Stonethrow Lodge accommodationStonethrow Lodge is a New Zealand fly fishing lodge located on the banks of the Whanganui River just ten minutes out of Taumarunui. It is available year round with or without a fishing guide.

This quality accommodation is a near new studio apartment. It is private, clean and contains a queen size bed, a single bed and a double sofa bed.

Facilities include: Self-contained kitchen, Sky TV and wireless broadband.

Additional accommodation is available (prices available on request) just two minutes walk along the river (one minute by car). This works well when larger groups want to socialise after a day on the river. The additional accommodation is a very well presented two bedroom studio apartment, also overlooking the Whanganui River.

Stonethrow Lodge Accommodation Dining at Stonethrow Lodge

Continental breakfast supplied free to all guests. There are 3 options available for evening meals:

  • Self cater – for a quiet evening cook inside or use the barbeque
  • Dine out – Taumarunui has several restaurants and cafes to choose from including Mahoe Restaurant, 1.5km away (the biggest steak in town)
  • 3 course evening meal provided by your host Nadine for NZ$80 per person/day (price includes a cooked breakfast).

Fishing Lodge Accommodation Your Hosts

Nadine was born in Taumarunui. Her family have been trout fishing locally for three generations. She is also and artist. Charlie is an original jack of all trades. When not guiding he can be found on the farm working or you guessed it, fishing.

Charlie and Nadine have been in the accommodation, fly fishing guiding business for three years. During that time they have gained a reputation for offering that personal touch and attention to detail that make your fly fishing vacation something to remember.
